Assistant Professor of Athletic Training

General Summary:

Central Methodist University invites applications for the position of Assistant Professor of Athletic Training. This is a ten-month, non-tenure track within the Division of Health Professions. Position begins August 2018. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellence in teaching, scholarship, and service. Preference will be given to candidates with classroom experience in anatomy, kinesiology, and rehabilitation to include manual therapies. The CAATE accredited Athletic Training program is currently a bachelor's level program and is in the process of transitioning to a master's level program.

Education and Experience Qualifications:

Applicant must be a Board Certified Athletic Trainer and eligible for Missouri licensure.
An earned doctorate from an accredited institution in Athletic Training or related discipline.
Applicants who are in progress for the terminal degree will be considered depending on completion date.
The successful candidate will teach courses within the athletic training curriculum, supervise undergraduate and graduate level research, advise undergraduate and graduate students, and provide service to the university, community, and profession.
A minimum of 2-3 years of college teaching preferred and 2-3 years of clinical experience as an athletic trainer required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to stand or sit for the duration of the class.
  • Must be able to bend over, squat, and reach overhead
  • Must be able to climb on a step ladder
  • Must be able to occasionally lift up to 20 lbs

Other Skills and Abilities:

Workable Microsoft Office Products knowledge is helpful.
